It was the bloody caterpillars!
Recently I had a nasty rash followed by a fever, coughing and breathing problems, all of which I attributed to some caterpillars whom I’d met at at the Crep Swing Festival. Some people laughed, some even satirised; Nic’s mum painted this:
But it was also Nic’s mum and dad who found an article in their local paper that suggests I was right and, furthermore, that the culprits were, in fact, brown-tailed moth caterpillars.
This article lists apple as the first in a list of commonly infested trees. Others point out that air-born hairs can cause serious breathing difficulty particularly in asthma or hay-fever sufferers.
