Here’s this month’s sketchbook, featuring #OneWeek100People and the first half of #uskathome, plus some other sketches that don’t have their own posts here.
Another prompt almost missed but saved by my daughter. She offered me the content of her hand-made recorder case for today’s theme.
“I was looking for something I haven’t played with for a long time”, she said, “and I found these”.
I got the prompt wrong today. Today is meant to be Hobbies other than sketching but somehow I had written down tomorrow’s prompt instead: Favourite movie watching. So I’ll just do hobbies tomorrow.
We went to the park in the cold damp wind this afternoon. I tried to sketch some people who were doing exercise. But, like dancers, they kept moving. So I went home and sketched the fruit bowl which is overflowing at the moment, and keeping us healthy.
I have been feeling unhappy with the colour reproduction of the scans of my sketches. So today I tried xsane instead of simplescan. Xsane takes a preview image and adjusts the settings based on that before doing a final scan. I also get to correct white balance by picking black and white points, etc. The results are below. Original on the left, xsane image on the right
